The most useful thing in this listing is a warning, and it is one almost no touch lamp includes: do not install smart bulbs.

That is not a compatibility footnote, it is a genuine electrical incompatibility worth understanding. A touch lamp dims by varying the current reaching the bulb. A smart bulb, on the other hand, expects constant full power at all times, because it needs to keep its wifi or Bluetooth radio alive so it can listen for commands even when the light appears off.

Put the two together and both fail. The smart bulb loses power intermittently and drops off the network, while the touch circuit cannot dim something that regulates its own brightness internally. The usual results are flicker, a bulb that will not respond to its app, or buzzing.

The second genuine difference is the touch surface. Most touch lamps put the sensor in the base, so you reach down to the table to change the brightness. On these, the whole conical body responds, meaning you can tap the lamp anywhere along its height.

In practice that matters at night. Reaching down to a base means finding the table first, usually by knocking something over. Touching the lamp body is a much easier target in the dark, and it is the sort of small ergonomic detail that only becomes obvious once you have lived with the alternative.

The trade-off is that a larger sensitive area means more ways to trigger it accidentally, whether that is a cat brushing past or a sleeve catching the lamp while reaching for a glass.

The anti-slip base is a sensible pairing with a touch lamp. Since operating it means physically pushing against the lamp, a base that grips the surface keeps the lamp from shifting each time you use it.

What the listing does not say is the bulb colour temperature, only that the bulbs are specially selected to match the lamps. For a bedside lamp, warm white around 2700K is what you want, so check on arrival. Any replacement must be dimmable and, per the warning above, not a smart bulb.
