Area Rugs
A rug takes more daily abuse than almost anything else in a room — foot traffic, spills, furniture legs pressing into the pile — so we’re less interested in how a rug photographs and more interested in whether the weave actually holds up. Natural fibers like jute and wool tend to wear better and flatten less than synthetic blends, though they come with their own trade-offs around texture and maintenance that we’ll flag honestly. We’re also checking whether a rug lies flat out of the box or needs weeks to settle, since that’s a common complaint that doesn’t show up in the marketing photos.
