We have to start with the contradiction, because it concerns the feature most people would be buying this for.

The product title ends with the words “No Outlet”. The second bullet point describes a built-in charging station with 2 AC outlets, 1 USB and 1 Type-C port. The photographs show no outlet panel on either unit.

Those cannot all be true. The most likely explanation is that this product comes in two versions, one powered and one not, and the listing copy has been reused across both without the bullets being updated. That would make the title correct and the charging bullet a leftover.

If you want the charging version, do not assume this is it. Message the seller and confirm before ordering, or choose a listing where the title and the bullets agree.

Set that aside and what remains is a well-judged pair of small nightstands, and the fluted front is the reason to look at them.

Fluting is vertical grooving cut into a flat panel, and it does something a plain front cannot. A flat drawer face is one uninterrupted plane that reflects light evenly and reads as slab. Grooves break that surface into narrow bands, each catching light on one side and holding shadow on the other, so the front has depth and changes appearance as you move past it or as the light shifts through the day.

It is an old technique borrowed from classical columns, and it has come back because it adds texture without adding color or ornament, which suits the current preference for quiet materials.
