Why we picked it
Sliding patio doors are awkward to dress, and the usual solution makes them worse. Hang a standard pair and you get a vertical gap down the middle where the two panels meet, right across the widest expanse of glass in the room. Light comes through it, you can see through it, and it sits at exactly eye level.
This is a single 100 inch panel rather than a pair, so there is no centre seam. It draws to one side and stacks against the wall, which is also how a sliding door actually opens. Pairing the curtain movement to the door movement means you are not fighting the fabric every time you step outside.
The second use is as a room divider, and this is where the width earns its place. At 100 inches across and 84 inches long, a single panel is enough to close off a basement corner, separate a studio sleeping area, or screen a home office from a living space. Hung on a ceiling track or a long rod, it does a job that would otherwise need a folding screen or a stud wall.
Worth noting for that use: fabric divides space visually and dampens sound slightly, but it does not block noise. If you are dividing a room for privacy of sight, this works. For privacy of conversation, it will not.
Now the light blocking, which the title oversells. The listing states over 75 percent, and separately that it blocks 90 percent of UV. Those measure different things, and 75 percent of visible light is room darkening territory, not blackout. The room will dim noticeably and you will still know it is daytime.
For a patio door in a living room, that is arguably the right level. You generally want to cut glare on a television and reduce heat gain without turning the main daytime room dark. If you need genuine darkness, a dedicated blackout panel will do it and this will not.
Two practical notes. Rust proof grommets matter more here than usual, because a 100 inch panel is heavy and the grommets carry that load, and patio doors get more humidity than an ordinary window. And check your rod: a single wide span needs a centre support bracket, or the rod will bow under the weight over time.
