This is pure soy rather than a soy blend, and that single distinction changes how the candle behaves.

Most scented candles, including the well-known ones, use a soy blend: soy wax mixed with paraffin. There is a reason for that, and it is not purely cost.

Paraffin carries fragrance better. It holds more oil and releases it more readily when melted, which is why blended candles throw scent across a room so effectively. Soy burns cooler and slower, produces less soot, and is renewable, but it is a less efficient fragrance carrier.

So a pure soy candle is a genuine trade rather than a straight upgrade. You get a cleaner, cooler burn and no petroleum-derived wax. You give up some of the throw that makes a blended candle noticeable from the next room.

Now two things in the listing that need pointing out.

First, the stated dimensions are wrong. The listing gives 2.16 inches wide, and a jar that narrow cannot physically hold three wicks with adequate spacing and edge clearance. A three-wick jar needs roughly three and a half inches at minimum. The product photographs show a wide jar, so the figure is a data entry error rather than a description of what arrives.

Second, the 2.2 pound weight is package weight, not wax weight. Glass is heavy, and on a candle it can easily account for half the total. That matters because you cannot calculate hours per ounce of wax from it, which is the only way to compare candles fairly.

For reference, a candle publishing its actual wax weight lets you do that maths directly. Here you have 40 hours and no reliable denominator.

On the toxin-free claim, some care is warranted. Soy wax genuinely produces less soot than paraffin, and a candle without synthetic additives is a reasonable thing to prefer. But any burning candle produces combustion byproducts, and no candle is literally free of them.

Read it as a claim about ingredients rather than about combustion, keep the room ventilated as you would with any candle, and treat the aromatherapy and stress relief framing as describing atmosphere rather than a medical effect.

Vanilla orchid is a soft gourmand scent, sweet and warm rather than sharp. Vanilla is among the most universally liked fragrance notes, which combined with the gift packaging makes this an easier present than a divisive scent would be.
