The most useful thing in this listing is a small one that plenty of dimmable lamps get wrong: it confirms the included bulbs are themselves dimmable.

That sounds redundant on a lamp sold as dimmable, but a stepless dimmer works by varying the current reaching the bulb, and an ordinary non-dimmable LED responds to varying current with flicker or an audible buzz. Shipping matched bulbs means the dimming works properly from the first evening rather than after a trip out for replacements.

The base shape is worth noticing. Where most floor lamps use a square or round base, this one is rectangular at 13.02 by 10 inches. A woven rattan-style shade does something a metal cage cannot. Metal cages leave the bulb fully exposed, so the filament is visible from most angles and glare is a real possibility at seated height. A woven shade diffuses, softening the light before it leaves the fixture while still letting texture and pattern show through the weave.

It also reads differently when the lamp is off. A metal cage is a dark skeletal shape; woven rattan has warmth and texture whether lit or not, which matters in a room where the lamp is visible all day.

The trade-off is cleaning. A woven shade collects dust in the gaps between strands, and unlike a fabric drum you cannot simply wipe it. A soft brush or a vacuum dust attachment handles it, but it needs doing periodically rather than never.

One more point in its favour: the rotary dimmer is mechanical, so any dimmable bulb works and smart bulbs remain an option later, which is not the case on touch-controlled lamps.
